JG Thirlwell interview
by theruiner on Dec.11, 2009, under Music, News

Here is a link to a good interview with one of godfather’s industrial and Uber lord of the sampler of JG Thirlwell of Foetus, Steriod Maximus, Venture Bros. and others. Highlights include news about the new Foetus album currently in production called HIDE and new Manorexia project played by live string orchestra. On a personal note, I alway found Thirlwell to be one of the most adept and talented songwriters out there but now that he’s moved to big band and orchestral arrangements my respect for his abilities have double. To find out more about him I also suggest picking up the LIMB album that also includes the FOETUS NYC documentary. While you are there may I also suggest in getting the Venture Bros. soundtrack collection, which is getting my nod for album of the year.
Even Micheal Jackson thinks the record industry sucks

“Not to trust everybody. Not to trust everybody in the industry. There’s a lot of sharks and record companies steal. They cheat. I have to audit them. And it’s time for artists to take a stand against them.”
As I woke this morning and getting ready for work I had ABC’s GMA drivel going in the background when they did a story about Micheal Jackson’s funeral service. In it they put a clip of a private interview with Director Brett Ratner and the above quote was part that clip.
Although I have very little respect for Jackson, I will say that for someone who has been declared “The King of Pop” for a the better part of two generations to come down on the record industry speaks volumes about the decay and greed of record labels.
