Media page added
by theruiner on Dec.11, 2009, under News, Site
I just added a page for which all media related to Ruined, Threshing Floor, and Rip-Off Dub Syndicate can be found. There you will find two sections of originals and covers. Original material is licensed with Creative Commons and I encourage their use in podcasts, remixes, free/non-profit radio streams. Covers are not available for download (and I highly doubt they ever will be) but after I get permissions worked out I’m hopeful that there will be on sale on iTunes, Amazon, etc later this year.
Enjoy!
Even Micheal Jackson thinks the record industry sucks
by theruiner on Sep.04, 2009, under Music
“Not to trust everybody. Not to trust everybody in the industry. There’s a lot of sharks and record companies steal. They cheat. I have to audit them. And it’s time for artists to take a stand against them.”
As I woke this morning and getting ready for work I had ABC’s GMA drivel going in the background when they did a story about Micheal Jackson’s funeral service. In it they put a clip of a private interview with Director Brett Ratner and the above quote was part that clip.
Although I have very little respect for Jackson, I will say that for someone who has been declared “The King of Pop” for a the better part of two generations to come down on the record industry speaks volumes about the decay and greed of record labels.

EBN or Emergency Broadcast Network was one of the most unique bands I have ever listened to and seen in concert. The first time I ever heard of them, some friends and I went to a now defunct night club in downtown DC called The State of the Union and EBN was performing there for it’s Halloween party. There was a massive video wall on stage with a mock presidential podium which had arms attached to the sides and when the show started a man in a suit and a megaphone (EBN ringleader Josh Pearson) stepped up to the podium and their started set.
